WebFeb 27, 2024 · As Richard says, the swap file is used for a memory dump when the system crashes. The memory contents, from the point of view of the hypervisor, is nonsense. The contents makes sense to the VM running in that space, but to the hypervisor, it's just random garbage with zero post-crash value. Setting a small swap file size (4GB) is fine. Configure the OS paging file and do not to allow system to set a low and hi file size. I have always used a rule of thumb (((Memory + (Memory/2))+ .5) for kicks. 4 GB RAM is 6.25 paging file. Don't give a low and high single size file.
