Blued or stainless
WebNov 6, 2010 · Does anyone want to inform me on the differences and overall features of a blued barrel over a stainless steel barrel? I've heard that the stainless is less prone to corrosion/rusting, but that it heats up faster and can be less accurate in cold weather. It costs a bit more than blue too. WebNov 12, 2007 · Cleaning up and wear are much better with stainless as opposed to blued guns. Have and use both blued and stainless steel revolvers and pistols. Stainless shows less wear over the years. There's just something about a blued gun though that feels right. There have been no regrets for using or having blued guns.

I heard it's due to high silcone content in the steel, needed because they cast parts.
